Phil Ivey favourite to win WSOP 2009

This Saturday the World Series Of Poker (WSOP) main event will see its final table come together to battle it out to see who goes home with $8.5 million.
6500 players each forked out $10k to play the main event back in July and the final nine have had to wait till now to see who will be crowned champion. This Saturday the nine finalists in this year's WSOP will sit down at the final table to battle for glory and a grand prize of $8,546,435.

Among these nine big odds-favorite Phil Ivey who, if he wins, will send many bookmakers into huge losses. Phil is a massive fan favourite getting 78% of the votes. Bookies however dont seem to share the opinions of fans and betfair have given Ivey 7/1 for a win. Phil Ivey is one of the best and most recognized players out there, and for very good reasonPhil Ivey is the most experienced player at the table, and in such a big tournament experience might just be the key to pulling off a win. Ivey won his first WSOP bracelet in 2000 at age 24, final tabled another event and narrowly missed a third. Another final table was at the WSOP in 2001, but 2002 was truly his breakout year. Ivey won three bracelets, tying the record for the most wins in a single series.
Another WSOP win and more final tables and a win after an amazing eight WPT final tables would soon follow as Ivey developed into one of the most feared tournament players on the planet, while also taking on all comers in the biggest cash games in the world.
This past summer, he added two more WSOP bracelets to his wrist, becoming the youngest in history to hold seven at age 33. Phil Ivey has won five WSOP bracelets and has in at least thirty money finishes. Ivey has banked in more than six million dollars in total although he is a little short on chips coming into Saturday's final, he truly believes this is his time.

"Now I have a shot," he said. "I'm seventh in chips, but you know what, I feel pretty comfortable with the close to ten million that I have. I don't feel like I'm in a rush. I can just take my time and get a hold of some chips. If I have to go all in I will. But whatever comes to me, I'm just going to take it."
