ESPN announces 2009 WSOP Schedule WSOP 2009 broadcast schedule has been announced by ESPN and the first episodes will start airing July 28th on the self proclaimed "Worldwide Leader in Sports".
ESPN is providing television coverage for select, higher-profile No-Limit Hold'em events, the heads-up challenge, high-stakes Pot-Limit Omaha and the $10,000 championship. The sports channel will film the final tables to be aired at a later date.
Espn will broadcast two episodes every Tuesday night at 8:00 p.m. EST beginning July 28th with the Special 40th Anniversary No-Limit Hold'em Event being the first to be shown. The WSOP Champions Invitational (August 4th) and the Ante Up For Africa Celebrity Charity Event (August 11th) are the other two special events that will be broadcasted.
The coverage for the No-Limit Hold'Em World Championship will start on August 18th and concludes with a two-hour special episode on November 10th at 9PM (ET). This broadcast will feature the final table which is now known as the "November Nine".
Keep in mind that ESPN will no longer show the other No-Limit Hold'Em Tournaments that have lower buy-in amounts nor will they broadcast other games such as Omaha, H.O.R.S.E or Seven Card Stud.
